Dr. Devin’s Wellness Wednesday Workshop – Episode 8 Chiropractic & Kids

Learn why kids go to the chiropractor and how we can help them grow into healthy adults. February 27, 2019: Welcome to Dr. Devin’s Wellness Wednesday Workshop where my goal is to help you maintain or improve your active lifestyle. In Episode 8, we talk about why parents bring their kids to the chiropractor. We will answer these questions:

  1. Why would a chiropractor adjust a baby?
  2. What is the #1 condition parents bring their kids to the chiropractor?
  3. Why did the American Academy of Pediatrics change their stance on antibiotics prescriptions in 2013?

Answers

  1. There are many but some of the main reasons are:
    1. The birth process itself is traumatic
      1. OBGYN pulls with an average of 70-90 lbs. of pressure on the head and rotates the neck
      2. Vacuum/forceps – over 100 lbs.
    2. Fewer sick days over their lifetime
      1. If they do get sick, they get better faster
    3. Chiropractic adjustments improve the immune system by over 200%
  2. Ear infections

  3. In 2004, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommended not giving antibiotics for acute otitis media because antibiotics do little to no good for acute otitis media and eventually helps create super bugs
    1. In 2013, since the pediatricians weren’t listening, they reversed their stance
